Upgrades coming in the next few weeks to the Orange Dog Park (Yorba Park)

Attention dog owners in Orange, construction will begin early February to renovate the Orange Dog Park(Yorba Park).  The park will be getting a much needed upgrade, but will be closed at times during the renovation. I have reached out the to the Orange Dog Park Association for info on closure dates, and will update this post as soon as I hear something. Below are some of the more important details.  For the full story from the OC Register CLICK HERE.

Cost: $1.97 million to $2.5 million

Main issue: As a closed landfill, there is a lot of room for improvement to give the park a sense of being more thoroughly designed and complete, officials said. An aging vapor extraction and monitor system will need to be replaced.

Coming upgrades: Expanded dog park, new watering stations and benches. Pending funding, project might also include new picnic tables, portable dog exercise equipment, shade canopies and new restrooms.

ETA: Park closing for first phase of project within a few weeks, completion expected by the fall.
