Unofficial Newport Dog Beach to Remain Open

A Win for the Dogs of Orange County!

A public hearing on the subject of wether or not the unofficial dog beach located where the Santa Ana river meets the ocean should remain an off-leash area for dogs to play took place on Tuesday night. The Parks, Beach, and Recreation Commission rejected the proposal to enforce the leash laws and have allowed that area of the beach to remain an off-leash dog playground for our furry friends! Regal Pet Services Celebrates Professional Pet Sitters Week™ 2016

Local pet-sitting business joins professional pet sitters in 22nd annual worldwide celebration, March 6-12, 2016.

Regal Pet Services encourages pet owners and pet lovers alike to celebrate the 22nd annual Professional Pet Sitters Week, March 6-12, 2016. Professional Pet Sitters Week™ (PPSW™) was introduced by Pet Sitters International (PSI) in 1995.

This international week of recognition seeks to educate pet owners about the advantages of using professional pet sitters, as well as to encourage the public to explore professional pet sitting as a viable and rewarding career opportunity.

This year, PSI member business, Regal Pet Services, is commemorating Professional Pet Sitters Week by donating 10% of its sales between March 6 – 12 to a rescue organization.

Regal Pet Services is committed to providing the best quality service to our pet-owning clients and is excited to celebrate this week that recognizes the pet-sitting industry on a global scale,” says Lori Cox, Owner of Regal Pet Services. “We want local pet owners to understand the importance of selecting professional pet sitters for their pet-care needs.”

With pet ownership at a record high, the need for pet-care services is greater than ever before.

“The pet-sitting industry has grown significantly over the past few decades. With the growth of the industry, it’s important for pet owners to seek out the services of professional pet sitters,” said Patti Moran, president of PSI.  “Professional pet sitters maintain insurance and bonding, provide proof of a clear criminal history and take advantage of continuing education to ensure they can offer the best possible care to clients’ pets.

“These professional businesses owners and their staff sitters truly deserve recognition for the optimal pet care and tireless efforts they provide year-round,” added Moran.

PSI is the world’s largest educational association for professional pet sitters. Since 1994 PSI’s membership has grown to nearly 7,000 independent professional pet-sitting businesses that service more than 740,000 pet-owning households each year.

Regal Pet Services has been a member of PSI since January 2015 and offers services to pet owners in Newport Beach, Newport Coast, Corona del Mar, Costa Mesa, North Irvine and South Huntington Beach.

For pet owners, at-home pet sitting provides a unique alternative to boarding facilities or having to rely on family and neighbors to care for their pets. Pet sitting goes beyond simply feeding and checking on pets. Professional pet-sitting services often include dog walking, care of special needs pets, pet transportation services and pooper-scooper services, in addition to basic pet care.

Lori Cox invites anyone interested in learning more about the advantages of hiring a professional pet sitter to visit the Regal Pet Services website at http://www.regalpetservices.com.  To learn more about PPSW and how you can participate, visit the PSI website, www.petsit.com.
